model portfolio : michelle
  January.11.2010

It all started with a senior portrait session.....her brother's!

The first time I photographed Michelle was when she tagged along at her brother's senior portrait session a few years ago. As I recall, she had recently received some info about an upcoming pageant of some sort and thought it might be fun to try it out. I did a few photos of her and, well...as they say...the rest is history.

There's a wall at her home dedicated to ribbons and trophies. A scrapbook filled with photos and clippings. She's been in magazines and speaks about Marfan Syndrome in order to raise awareness. The list goes on and on.

And she's absolutely gorgeous......inside and out.

I've been fortunate to have, in a way, made a lot of this journey with Michelle and her mom. I photograph her pretty frequently and am touched every time they call me to do another series of photos for her portfolio. She's surrounded by photographers that she could pick and choose from but they keep coming back to me and I am so glad that they do.

I've been dying to get Michelle outside...to do 'my' type of session but the restrictions for the pageant portfolios and comp cards always seem to keep us inside the studio. My wish finally came true last week when her agent from Dynasty Models told her that she needed to have more natural images in her portfolio....less of the glamour and runway stuff. YAY! I was sooo excited to do this type of shoot with her!

Here are some from that snowy day session last week.....
